FAQS: The midterm evaluation grade you provide (as well as the final grade) may not be the grade the intern receives for the internship. Other factors include the weekly online reports the intern is supposed to make, the journal, and the final paper requirements. If you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me. SCHOOL BREAKS AND VACATIONS Internships do NOT revolve around the normal school calendar concerning breaks and holidays. Interns must not expect the intern sponsor to abide by any school schedule. This includes spring break, Easter break, etc. The internship is similar to student teaching and other ‘external’ experiences for which the LVC calendar also does not apply. If you would like to help more to prepare the students of the LVC Music Business and Recording programs, there are some things you can do: Get involved with the music industry conference ( LVC-MIC) put on by the students each fall. This can include participation on panels, demonstrations, advertisement in the school paper, and sponsorships. Go to the LVC-MIC page for more info; or contact your intern or Professor Snyder if you or your company are interested. Offer to drop by to speak to classes or student organizations. Student organizations include AES (Audio Engineering Society) and MISA (Music Industry Students Association). Offer gear in exchange for tax write-off documentation. Sometimes you can get more of a tax break than cash when you are moving out some gear. LVC is a non-profit organization. Scholarships/Gifts. Currently there are no scholarships or gifts set up specifically for music business and recording majors and programs.
