engineers

Matty Longo Longo Drums

Longo began playing the drums in 1986 at the age of 12 and has been recording since 1988. He is part owner of the project studio

(The Village) that has been through six re-modeling phases, the latest of which was completed in 2006.   In 2004 he graduated from the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) NY, and has since completed countless recordings of both local bands and singer/songwriters.  Other skills include drum building, wood working, art, graphic design, photography and computer aided design, and running the family owned and operated business, Longo Custom Drums.

Longo Drums was officially started in late 2005 but has been in operation since the early 90s. They build one-ply, steam-bent snare drums out of exotic and domestic wood, some of which we cut and air-dry themselves.  The drums have been played and sold world-wide to great response.  The snare drums can also be heard on hundreds of professional recordings since the mid 90s.

Matt Edgcomb Whitaker Center

Matt Edgecombe, also an LVC MRT graduate, served as an apprentice with recording great Shelly Yakus, then went on the road as the road manager for major touring groups. Matt toured with Ben Lee, Slow Runner, Grammy nominated The Duhks, and mixed for John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. Turning down offers from major tours, he took on the job of managing all of the sound, stage, and lighting for the Whitaker Center with shows ranging from major music artists to Broadway plays. He still engineers for Peter Buffett (scored soundtrack for Dances With Wolves, etc.) To read a Mix magazine interview with Mat, go to http://mixonline.com/mixline_live/Edgecomb-Lee-Tour-07190518/
